The helmet has about 85% of the original paint. No fraying on the straps. No dents in the helmet. There are a few areas with the paint nicked out. Please see the pictures — no rust on the inside helmet. There is paint marked R1573. The number on the helmet can not be seen; there are too many scratches and knicks. I tried about 20 pictures at all different angles, and nothing appears.
The liner is in nice condition. No cracks, most of the original paint is on the liner. There are several marks on the outside of the liner. The inside liner is MSA 10 and has the emblem for MSA. The sweatband almost looks new as well as the khaki webbing. It appears this liner was used very little — no deep cracks in the chin strap.
I am going to throw in a net for the helmet at no cost to you — no damage to the net.
There is a very good reference book Steel Pots by Chris Armold. I recommend this book for helmet collectors. The book is not sold with the helmet.
This is from my personal collection.
