WW II U.S. ARMY M-1C PARATROOPER HELMET & 11th AIRBORNE LINER ALL ORIGINAL. This helmet and liner are all original vintage, and nothing has been done to change this helmet. I have had this helmet and liner for pushing 20 years in my collection.
This is a front seam swivel bale helmet, and the inside number is 1104A. A couple of very small dents that are hardly noticeable and original paint with about 90% of the original paint. The khaki straps have minor fraying; please see the pictures — very little rust on the inside of the helmet.
This is a Westinghouse 35D liner. The liner color is black with about 50% of the paint on the liner. The liner and 11th Airborne are all original, and nothing has been added or touched up. Each Airborne patch has damage. The liner has the 5 original rivets on each side, 1 in the font, 2 in the back and a total of 13 original rivets are on the liner. This liner has some cracks. The liner is not in the best of condition, but it is original with the 11the Airborne decals. The chin strap has some fine line cracks
PLEASE SEE ALL OF THE PICTURES FOR THE BEST DESCRIPITON OF THIS ORIGINAL HELMET AND LINER.
The book Steel Pots by Chris Armold is one of the best books for helmets. I have included some of the information on paratrooper helmets. There is a lot of misinformation on paratrooper helmets. I thought the information in the book would help for collectors just starting to collect helmets, and are interested in paratrooper helmets.
