WW 2 JAPANESE KOKURA TYPE 30 VARIATION A BAYONET. This bayonet fits on type 30, 38, or 99 rifles. The early type 30 bayonets have a hooked quillon guard, also known as a hook crossguard.
The bayonet is polished silver with a metal scabbard. The picture of the blade has brown spots that are a reflection of taking the pictures. The blade does not have any brown spots on it. The blade is in excellent condition with no pitting; please see the closeup pictures. The Kokura manufacturers marking is easily visible. The wood is original and completely intact with the blade. At the end of the metal is the number 36096 with an emblem before the number.
No dents in the scabbard. The original blue is on the scabbard with some scratches. The early scabbard has a ball at the end, which this scabbard has. The later scabbards didn’t have a ball, only a flat end.
In case you are looking for the Japanese Frog, I don't have any left.
Please see the closeup pictures that I have taken at different angles. The brown on the pictures is only a reflection and not on the blade.
This is the last Japanese bayonet that I have in my collection. I probably had 90 of the Japanese bayonets.
For collectors that are just beginning to collect Japanese bayonets, I have included a picture of an excellent reference book, with a picture of the bayonet that I am selling with an informational article of the bayonet.
