RETIRED FRANKLIN MINT B-26 MARAUDER FLAK BAIT D-DAY MARKINGS 1/48 DIECAST DESKTOP AIRPLANE
This Franklin Mint retired Flak Bait D-Day Invasion markings airplane comes with the box. The Certificate of Authenticity is included with this airplane. I purchased this airplane from my deceased friend’s wife. I don’t know if it has ever been out of the box. I took it out of the box to take pictures only. I can't find any damage to the airplane. The box shows wear around the corners from shelf wear.
I have more retired Franklin Mint Armour Collection of USAAF airplanes. If you are looking for one. Contact me and I will see if I have it.
The airplane is screwed down so there shouldn't be any damage to the airplane during shipment. This is a heavy and large box to ship.
During World War Two, this B-26, Flak Bait, completed over 200 bombing missions, more than any other U.S. Aircraft. It was piloted by Lt Jim Boss Farrell. During the course of its 200+ bombing missions over Germany, Flak Bait lived up to its name by being shot with over 1,000 holes, returned twice on one engine and once with an engine on fire. Lost it's electrical system once and hydraulic system twice. It has participated in bombing missions in support of Normandy Landings and the Battle of the Bulge.
