ORIGINAL UNISSUED PRE-WW II TO EARLY WW II U.S. ARMY CAVALRY NYLON DOG TAG CORD.
These cords were used around 1938 to around 1942 before the beaded chain type for holding the dog tag. The cords are different colors according to the branch of service they were in. There are different woven varieties I have more than one of these so, the package and cord will be the same but the picture may be a little different. The package is a little torn but still usable. THESE ARE NOT REPRODUCTIONS.
Pictures of the different types of nylon cords can be found in DOG TAGS A History of the American Military Identification Tag 1860-2002 Book on page 161 by Paul F. Braddock.
